20 Years of Impact

We’re so proud of the strategic advice and delivery support the Principle team has provided to charities over the last 20 years, helping to achieve long-lasting policy change and to amplify the voices of communities, organisations and issues across the UK.

Principle launched in 2005, with the aim of enabling small charities that didn’t have in-house public affairs expertise or big budgets to navigate the political world, to raise their profile and gain support for the long term policy changes needed for their beneficiaries. Over the 20 years since, we’ve evolved into a not-for-profit policy, public affairs and campaigns power house supporting charities and coalitions of all sizes, levels of brand recognition and starting points.

The last 20 years of impact in numbers:

• Held one of our charity partnerships for 20 years 
• We’ve supported 63 third sector organisations 
• Delivered work across 10 different sectors and policy areas
• Achieved long lasting policy change and won 8 high-profile sector awards & high commendations 
• Adjusted strategies to reflect 8 changes in Prime Ministers and multiple re-shuffles
• Written 40 reports and counting 
• Held 6 widening access internships since the programme began in 2020 
• Built our work experience partnership with Uxbridge College over 9 years
• Organised over 100 events engaging parliamentarians across the UK, and supported many more, alongside countless visits and meetings with Parliamentarians and Ministers
