Aminah joins Principle with a background in Politics and International Relations, graduating from SOAS, where her studies focused on migration and the Windrush generation. She joins Principle hoping to learn more about the intersection between research and policy change.
At SOAS, she was a Scholarship Advocate who raised awareness and fundraised for the Sanctuary Scholarship, which allows students without access to Higher Education as a result of their immigration status to pursue their degrees. As a student journalist with The SOAS Spirit, she challenged both internal and governmental policy. After graduating from SOAS, she learned about community-led campaigning through interning with We Belong and continues to contribute to the campaign as a member of their Parliamentary Working Group. Her experience in the SEN Continuing Education sector as a Specialist Student Support/Notetaker has grounded her work in frontline advocacy. At Principle, she is looking forward to putting theory into practice and bridging the gap between research and impact.
