2019 to current day

We provide policy, public affairs and strategic support to the Rare Autoimmune Rheumatic Disease Alliance (RAIRDA).

IMPACT

  • We produced RAIRDA’s Resetting the Balance policy paper which has clearly set out and evidenced their key policy calls. The report was referenced in the 2023 England Action Plan for the Rare Diseases Framework.
  • Built relationships and secured meetings with key decision makers across the UK nations – England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
  • Supported RAIRDA in its call for a quality standard for rare disease, including facilitating the formation of stakeholder group whose work has been endorsed by the Department of Health and Social Care in England.
  • Formed relationships with key parliamentarians
  • Redeveloped their website and in the process of refreshing their social media output to increase their effectiveness at communicating to key stakeholders and supportive communities.
  • Building up the Alliance’s ability to engage with, and make use of research, for example through the development of a research proposal, and also sharing the outcomes of research that member charities are involved with.

“Achieving cut through during the pandemic has been challenging, but thanks to the expertise and support of Principle Consulting, the work we did to highlight the impact of COVID-19 on our community gave us the platform we needed to raise the profile of rare autoimmune conditions with key decision makers and the opportunity to help shape solutions. Key to this success has been Principle’s unique way of working, with their consultant operating as part of the team as opposed to being at arm’s length. Their ability to be adaptable, pragmatic and pro-active has added real value.”
